65 pesos?! lets bicycle ourselves!

You can tell how gas price is so high these days just by driving yourself somewhere that's only a couple of blocks away but still pisses you off because it felt like you were leaving a trail of 500 peso bills along the way. With oil price hitting $142 a barrel ( and is expected to increase in a couple of weeks), its not a surprise everyone is giving way to alternatives which could significantly decrease transportation expenses.

Moreover, Its hard to be the bearer of bad news especially when you are also affected. But Petron announced some weeks ago that everyone has to deal with the 1.5 pesos increase in gas price per week. That's 65 pesos /liter for everyone (wapak!).

In Saudi Arabia though, its the other way around. Gasoline is so cheap, my dad gets to load gas for merely 10 riyals ( that's about 100 pesos) and use the whole consumption for almost 2 days. I know, sounds like Ripley's Belive it or Not huh? Talk about surrealism...

Anyway, i feel like I'm obliged to share this link to you. Its about how to save a grand on gas . Pretty simple steps that could save you a thousand dollars. If you follow the 10 steps that is. click here.

well. happy saving.

"so.TRAY UP BITCH."

I apologies for not citing, i forgot to save the link!

This is a rip off of a funny story from a random website I stumbled upon:

My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks. As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle saying

"Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super."

On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed this well-dressed and rather Arabic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle.

"Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise

your trazy-poo so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."

She calmly turned her head and said,

"In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no-one."

To which (I swear) the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat,

"Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country, I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray-up, Bitch."

Making the most of poverty.

AAhhh yes. the ever joyous Filipino youth [of the slums].

I was on my way home when i saw a couple of kids swimming in a road construction site filled with muddy water. Yes, it was a pretty revolting site indeed. But come to think of it. Some thought passed through my mind which I began to ruminate for a couple of minutes. For a moment there I was chewing the cud thinking and telling myself, "Their social status seems to provide them a bit of light relief...". I tried to put myself in their shoes trying to think like the typical "have-nots" . And so I thought that if there's one thing that we could get something good out of this impoverishment, its the state of being free from any social pressure and consciousness.
Filipinos in mass are too caught up with the idea of getting on top of everybody/thing. They want to get rich, wealthy, they want to drown themselves with money (I believe crab mentality was derived from this idea). Everyone wants to be involved with glamor, the high-end life, the luxury, and the like. Social status is not a mere position anymore. More like a competition to me. Average life is not an option. Everyone is yearning for the top.
Success is such a harsh process. People kill for it.

Somehow its a pity. Everyone looks down on poverty. They disgust it. People tend not to look at the brighter side of this wretched life. No social pressure whatsoever. No need to work for vanity. A very simple life. Walang kaartehan. (Who needs a waterpark? meron namang putikan!)

Having the basic needs will suffice. But in reality satisfaction doesn't have a limit for a mere human. Sad.

giving everyone a quickie.

geez, i've been ignoring my multiply for a month now. I'm into microblogging na lang kasi, you know, *tweeting*. its fun and simple and you don't have to fill up a whole page to upate yourself.

anyway since i'm not doing anything, i might as well post a blog on here and give everyone a quick update about me =)

for the past month i've done nothing but play badminton. Since we're already in that subject matter let me brag about the fact that i've improved tremendously. It's pretty evident, i'm getting a lot of positive feedbacks from other players. Lets give myself a warm round of applause...yes, thank you so much. If anyone of you plays badminton rin, laro tayo minsan :)

Also, i've been trying to work out, sadly though i was sick for 4 days recently and everything i worked hard for were all .... well, i literally defecated them all.
So i'm back to my li'l scrawny self. (will start all over again. in a minute.)

So i've been roaming around Manila, bivouacking around various locations, none is worth elaborating to make a story out of.

and oh yeah, let me just note down, i saw Celine Angue and Louh Coplan at the cashier in Nat'l Bookstore last night. It was sort of a spontaneous EB. 2 of the most prominent people here on Multiply It was awesome meeting the power couple, finally!
>>> ps. on a very serious note:
celine, you look way better in person. . and just for the record, crush kita haha!
And ofcourse louh, leche ang pogi mo. kaka insecure ka. :)) sa susunod wag mo nako batukan sa sm. simpleng kiss pwede na. ha? seryoso ha?

And just to keep you posted for a month in advance, I'm gonna start working on my enrollment for St. Benilde next week, gonna go visit DLSU-D to get my T.O.R. and those other shizz. Hopefully i'll be able to get all of them before July. And optimistcally speaking, I'd be able to study by the 2nd term. So i still have several months to bum around (and show off my badminton prowess. hah).

Oh one more thing, my dad's planning to buy an slr camera (entry level lang naman). We're eyeing for that canon xsi rebel. (Anyone who's an slr enthusiast, comment on this please. ) Lets keep praying for that, shall we.

So anyway, im not really abandoning my Multiply, i might log in lang and take a look around. I usually blog at tumblr na, a site for the lazy bloggers, *snort*
